What does my bunny mean by doing this?
i have a new bunny (since a week ago) and he is 2 months old. today is the first time he comes out of the cage himself... i let him roam around the room... but i'm not allowed to in case he poops or wees everywhere. when i try to carry him back into his cage, he scratches me and pushes me away. in the end he finally went back into his cage himself.
when i close the cage door, he bites the cage, scratches and tries to come out. when i open the cage, he runs out so fast! i cannot let him out just yet because i'm in the process of making him a "playpen" so he can only exercise in a certain area. what do you think my bunny means by doing this? does he want to exercise? or is he curious?
i want real answers because i really want to know why he is doing this! thank you ![]()
thanks for all the replies. my bunny has settled and isn't as active as before. i have litter trained him is just my mum still worries because our floor is carpet.. not wood .. and we're in a rented house.. haha
He doesn't like being caged.
Being a rabbit, he loves to run and burn some energy. Rabbits also usually potty train themselves, since my rabbits were 2 months old they hopped back in their hutch/cage to pee or poop in the corner. Sometimes they'll leave a few droppings around the house but that is easy to pick up haha.
Also your rabbit doesn't like being held, most rabbits don't. Although being the size they are, they are not the ones to be picked up (even when we have to!). He should get used to it as he is still a baby
