This may seem a bit silly, but I want to get my cat an outfit! I'm not a crazy cat lady, but I just think it would make for some good laughs and smiles when people walk into my house and see my kitty dressed in something silly or cute. I've tried googling sites, but most pet clothing sites are geared more towards dogs. Does anyone know of any good sites for cat clothes? And does anyone know if Petco carries items such as this? Thanks!

There is a very good reason why there aren't many websites that sell cat's clothing. Cats are the epitome of cleanliness and the need to groom is instinctual. You will realize that your cat spend a lot of time making sure each fur is in place and she will lick every inches of her body, wherever her little barbed tongue can reach.
When you put clothing on her, you are hindering her from her grooming duties. She needs to feel clean at all times and when she is unable to clean herself, she might get pretty upset. Cats don't do well playing dress up and many will not tolerate it.
Another reason is a cat's fur is a great insulator against cold and heat and helps send sensory messages to the brain. Your cat rely on these sensory messages to tell her the condition of her surroundings. This sensory messages are just as important as her sight.
So, leave the clothes to the dogs and allow your cat to be herself, glorious and dignified in her own furry glory.
