I have a lab/spitz puppy, he is 4 months. What food is recommended for him?
I feed him Flint River Ranch dog food. I reading that Eukanuba is dangerous..
Flint river is a brand I'm not familiar with so I can't tell you much there.
However, of what's readily available I would go with the following:
Wellness
Merrick
Canidae (new formula isn't as good but still quality food)
Innova (NOT their wet food it's produced my Menu Foods--IE 2007 recalls)
Solid Gold
Taste of the Wild
Natures Variety
And if you can find it, what I would consider to be the best of the absolutely best dog food on the market today: Orijen. Good luck finding a store that carries it, however.

Iams
Ol'roy
Royal Canin
Bill Jak
Pedigree
Beneful (ACK why do SO many people feed this garbage to their dogs?)
These are all brands that are complete and utter crap. If you feed this stuff to your animals they should be taken away from you.
A good lot of these bad brands were ONCE good but are no longer. They have been bought out by large corporations and cheapened to the point where they are utter crap and very low in nutrition for your pets. People need to learn NOT TO TRUST THESE BRANDS ANYMORE! THEY ARE BAD FOR YOUR PETS!
The best thing you can do regarding dog food is to be VIGILANT! Even the best brands now may not always be good. Keep and eye on the ingredients and make sure that if the companies start to get cheap and begin putting fillers in the food you need to find a new brand to try.
